I have never heard of a "wiki" before yesterday's class. I think the idea is really cool because as teachers, we will need resources like this! I am doing "Of Mice and Men" and I am happy I picked that novel because I have actually read it! It has been a while though, so I might have to skim it over again for ideas. I haven't read a lot of the novels on the wiki, so I am happy that I will be able to get a feel for each one when this assignment is completed.
Today I am going to work and I am hoping it will stop raining.

I have never heard of a wiki before either! I was really worried that I was the only one, but I feel a little bit better now. Haha. I also think it is a great idea and it will help us as teachers. It is always nice to know that you have many resources at your disposal and you are not out there teaching all by yourself.
ReplyDeleteI too, have never heard of a wiki. I am really liking the idea of using it, especially since our student teaching is coming up. It's nice that each of us are assigned one book, and we get to share all of our info. This is definitely going to be a great resource because we are all doing the work for each other. At the least these pages give us a plce to start looking for lessons or ideas. I'm glad I don't have to research 20 books on my own :) So thanks in advance everyone!
ReplyDeleteThis was the first time I had ever heard of a wiki too! I think this is going to be a really good idea! If any of us end up teaching these novels next year we will have a wealth of resources at our fingertips. The best part about this is that not all the resources will be strictly lesson plans. There will be links to video clips, audio clips, and review games as well. This will make planning lessons for the novel so much easier!
ReplyDeleteI liked this assignment as well because it will definitely be an amazing resource when we are teachers. Of Mice and Men is a great book and I'm excited to see your wiki. I received Lord of the Flies for the project, and have never read it before, so I'm going to have to read it in order to do the project. Because I'm sure that I will be teaching it, this assignment will definitely help me out in the future!
